Elizabeth Macregor Nursery is famed for its violas

Elizabeth Macgregor Nursery

Ellenbank, Tongland Road, Kirkcudbright, DG6 4UU

phone: 01557 330620

Elizabeth Macgregor Nursery is a small nursery and garden run by Elizabeth and Alasdair MacGregor, and their son John, in Galloway, south-west Scotland. We sell plants by mail order, at some flower shows and of course from the nursery. We produce a new catalogue each autumn, when we know what we have propagated and should have available for the following spring. We usually send plants in spring, March to early May. After this we will try to fulfill orders until the end of May, though taller plants will have to be cut back to fit a box.  No autumn deliveries.

Elizabeth specialises in cultivating violas and she has won prestigious awards for her plants, including the Wild Swan anemone

You can select and order plants through our online shop. When you have selected your plants the system sends me an email with your order, I will then confirm with an email, usually within a few hours.

Purely Shutters widow covers

Purely Shutters

Unit 5, Birmingham Trade Park, Kingsbury Road, Birmingham, B24 9PS

Shutters not only look great, they're a recognised energy efficiency measure under the government's Green Deal, with an estimated £96 savings per year on a three-bedroom house (2013). In summer use shutters to keep your house cool, and in winter use them to let in natural warm light, then close them when it gets dark to retain heat in your home. It’s estimated that shutters reduce heat loss from windows by 25-50 per cent, so they're a very sensible investment.

At Purely Shutters we care about the environment and ethics. All our woods are from sustainable sources: we buy cedar from managed forests where a tree is replanted for everyone felled; our laminated wooden shutters come from parasol, a fast-growing farmed wood; and our Warwick range is our most eco-friendly, because no trees have been felled for them - rather the laminate is produced from waste off-cuts not useable elsewhere.

Purely Shutters' products allow you to maintain privacy, especially important if you live in close proximity to your neighbours. But because you can open the slats during daytime, you'll get maximum light in your rooms, which is important because natural light is vital for our health and wellbeing.
