Woven Image is an Australian company that manufactures innovative surface coverings and textiles. One of its key products is its award-winning EchoPanel, a versatile eco-friendly acoustic material made from 60 per post consumer recycled plastic bottles and 40 per cent virgin PET, and which is 100 per cent recyclable.
Available in different thicknesses (7,12 and 24mm) and lots of designs and colours, EchoPanel is a fun, modern material can be used in myriad ways in residential, office and contract interiors - as wall cladding, space dividers, decorative designs, desk dividers or indeed as artwork. It has the added bonus of being able to absorb sound, so in spaces that are noisy or echoey, it creates what's called acoustic comfort for people.
EchoPanel demonstrates upcycling at its best because it's taking a waste material and creating a high quality new product from it. It comes in panel form, ready-made freestanding screens, ceiling suspended space dividers and in packs of peel-and-stick tiles - which are great fun to use.
