Fairtrade Fortnight 2019

Fairtrade Fortnight 2019

Fairtrade Fortnight focuses the mind on how we can support people around the world who work hard to keep us in cotton, affordable craftware, coffee, tea, flowers, cocoa and bananas

Their Story bedlinen is 100 per cent organic Fairtrade cotton

Organised by the Fairtrade Foundation, a global movement, Fairtrade Fortnight this year runs from 25 February to 10 March. Fair trade means fair wages for people in some of the poorest countries in the world who produce food and products we in the West would find it hard to live without - from coffee to cotton, roses to bananas. Look for the Fairtrade logo on products or in the case of homewares, ask the companies you're buying from if products are fair trade and produced with no child labour. Charities including Oxfam  and Traid have excellent ranges of craft products for our home, while Fairtrade organic cotton bedlinen is becoming widely available. Brands to choose from include Glasgow's Fou Furnishings, John Lewis, Dip & Doze and Their StoryPictured above: Their Story's hand-blocked Fairtrade organic cotton Shimla bedlinen set in chilli
